Now the data is certified. The assault on Sardinia, violent and unprecedented, is imprinted in black and white, as never before. Terna's digital dashboard , a veritable computerized abacus, will from now on measure, almost in real time, the number of wind turbines that the lords of the wind want to plant on the promontories of the island or on the horizon of its sea. A georeferenced system that opens up for the first time the protocols of the projects transmitted to the company that manages the country's electricity transmission, or rather the link between electricity production and its consumption in Italian homes. Until today we had monitored the wind projects filed far and wide "against" Sardinia through the Ministry of Wind Energy, officially the one destined to deal with the Environment and Energy Security.

The assault map

Opening Terna's wind farm is a bit like discovering the projects presented by Sardinian wind speculators at the source, intercepting the ambitions of a myriad of foreign companies and others who are applying to fill up on incentives in Sardinia. With Terna's digital map we have to update, significantly upwards, the data of the projects presented in the buildings of Rome. The scenario that presents itself is unprecedented, in many ways shocking even compared to an overall picture that was already devastating for the island in itself. The scenario is opened up by the electric power data that emerges from the requests for connection to the transmission grid. In the quarterly update, scheduled for March 2023, it emerges that new requests for "electricity connection" have been presented for a good 13,980 megawatts, attributable only to the new blades on the ground, i.e. those to be positioned on the ridges and promontories of the island. To get an idea of the comparison with the current situation, we are talking about almost ten times the number of wind turbines already placed throughout Sardinia.

2330 new shovels on the ground

Assuming the use of new generation wind turbines, those of 6 megawatts each, we get to plan a barbaric horde of 2,330 new steel skyscrapers, over 200 meters high. It would be a massive devastation that would not leave any landscape of Sardinia untouched. To get a clearer picture of the havoc that would be wrought against the island, just look at the renewable energy distribution plan envisaged between now and 2030. In order to respect European parameters, Sardinia would receive 810 new megawatts of terrestrial wind energy , that is 135 new shovels.

Wind landfill

The comparison between what belongs to the island and the projects presented is unspeakable. The new blades planned are 2,300, those that would be due to the Island according to the European allotment parameters "just"135. It is clear from this fact that Italy, the State, the Government, aim to transform Sardinia into a veritable gigantic wind "landfill", leaving the Tuscan or Lazio hills untouched, from the Alps to the Apennines, to attack, without a tomorrow, every corner of the Sardinian landscape.

Confrontation-scandal

If the comparative analysis moves on to the comparison data with the European objectives assigned to Italy, the huge disproportion between the projects presented in Sardinia and those assigned to the entire national territory becomes even clearer. According to the plans agreed with Europe, with the "Fit for 55" package, Italy will have to install around 70,000 megawatts of new renewable capacity by 2030 to cover at least 65% of electricity consumption with the energy produced from these sources of clean energy (the so-called RES, from the acronym of renewable energy sources). The comparison with the overall renewable energy projects presented in Sardinia, including the solar ones, is disarming. If the parameter assigned to Italy is 70,000 megawatts to be produced by 2030, the island alone has projects presented for 56,700 megawatts, or more than 80% of the new renewable energy due to the entire nation. A picture that becomes even more devastating when one examines the figure for offshore wind power. In the waters surrounding the island, projects have been presented for offshore wind power "skyscrapers" to produce an impressive 37,710 megawatts. An unusual figure if you consider that Sardinia, according to European parameters, would be entitled to 1,410 megawatts. The comparison in terms of blades is easy to do: assigning a potential of 15 megawatts to each offshore blade, we arrive at a figure of 2,514 blades even 300 meters high to be placed in the middle of the sea, compared to the 100 expected according to the European parameter.

50 million inhabitants

It is a real ambush on the island, without any institution fully understanding the seriousness of what is happening in Sardinia. What is more serious is that all this energy that the lords of the wind and the sun would like to produce, or rather exploit in Sardinian land, would not produce a single benefit for the island, if not the devastation of the territory. The data relating to the electrical potential of the projects presented to Terna for Sardinia is an exact snapshot of the madness being pursued: with 56,700 megawatts, in fact, energy would be produced for over 50 million inhabitants. Too many for an island that has just one million and six hundred thousand. Infinitely outsized compared to European parameters: according to the energy package, Sardinia should produce 7,450 megawatts of renewable energy by 2030. The speculators landed in Sardinia plan to produce almost eight times more. They, you know, care about billionaire incentives.
