The Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza in Cagliari, during its operations—intensified for New Year's Eve—to combat the production, trade, and possession of illegal fireworks, identified two illegal fireworks vendors in a square in the San Michele neighborhood.

The military thus seized a large quantity of pyrotechnic items belonging to various risk and noise categories: high-explosive firecrackers, sets of fireworks, homemade products, and devices without the required CE marking, intended for sale.

A total of 130 kg of explosive material was confiscated, with a net explosive content equal to approximately 16 kg of black powder.

The two sellers were reported to the Judicial Authorities for the crime of illegal trade in explosives and for failing to adopt adequate safety measures in the storage of the material. They were also charged with administrative violations for the illegal operation of a commercial activity.
