The WWF Aule Natura project supported by Procter & Gamble also arrives in Quartu Sant'Elena with the aim of implementing concrete actions of environmental and social sustainability throughout the national territory. The initiative, by 2024, provides for the inauguration of over 50 "Classrooms Nature" in schools throughout Italy.

Opened by the welcome of the school director Aurelia Orru, the event saw the interventions of Giovanni Paulis, WWF Monte Arcosu reserve referent, and Antonio Canu, WWF coordinator in Sardinia, and the participation of the mayor Graziano Milia, the municipal councilor Cinzia Carta , the president of the municipal council Francesca Casarotto and Petra Paolini of Domus de Luna.

Spread over 230 square meters of sunny and shady areas , the nature room of Quartu allows the development of a great variety of ecosystems , some typical of the Mediterranean scrub with shrub species, such as myrtle, strawberry tree, and mastic, and aromatic and/or medicinal species , such as rosemary, lavender and helichrysum.

It also includes a pond - of great importance for the local birdlife throughout the year - and an area dedicated to plants for pollinators and shelter for insects . The different ecosystems are connected by a path that traces the path to discover nature within the school garden.

155 young students for the current school year and 160 for the academic year 2023/24 will thus be able to know, see and touch flowers, fruits and animals, the alternation of the seasons, the concept of biodiversity, becoming custodians of them.
