The fifth edition of “Fondali Puliti” will be held in Castelsardo on Sunday 17 September. The event will begin at 9 am in the Ge.Cas conference room. in the tourist port of Frigiano, where, after an informative briefing on the theme of the day and the institutional greetings of the mayor Antonio Maria Capula, the volunteers of the diving associations will immediately set off to check the seabed in front of the coast of Castelsardo and Lu Bagnu, to search the seabed missing and/or abandoned fishing gear and various waste and proceed with their removal.

A group of WWF volunteers will also take care, once accompanied by sea, to search and clean the area between Lu Grannaddu and Isola del Molino, an area very popular with both fishermen and hikers, as well as Disney fans, having been chosen as the set location for the latest live action, The Little Mermaid.

The recovered material will be transported ashore by the fishermen of the local navy who, with private boats, will give their fundamental contribution to the day. On the port quay, the Econova company will ensure correct waste disposal and transport to the various collection plants. The event, now in its fifth edition, has obtained the patronage of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, the Province of Sassari, the Asinara Park and the North Sardinia FLAG.

The event takes place thanks to the Municipality of Castelsardo and the involvement of the Port Authority of Porto Torres and the local maritime office of Castelsardo, the associations Sea Project Castelsardo ASD, Mistral Diving, Sub Unit of the CVSM-Civil Protection and the WWF Sub , Plastic Free Castelsardo and the ASD Bulli and Surf Club, always with the fundamental contribution of the local navy, all united by love and respect for the marine habitat.
