Gas mixed with sulfur: these are the characteristics of the smelly cloud that since yesterday evening has been making the air of Capoterra and all its hamlets and villages unbreathable , from Torre degli Ulivi to the Poggio residence.

Countless reports on discussion groups in the area. Someone, after spending the night with the windows closed, also contacted the fire brigade to report the problem. But at the headquarters in Viale Marconi there are no irregularities that require the intervention of a team.

«The cause is not linked to our territory, knocking on Sarroch», says the mayor of Capoterra, Beniamino Garau. The residents of his municipality are "accustomed" to more or less nauseating odors, «and we know the characteristics of each one. This time I can say that it does not depend on activities that insist on the area of our competence. From the initial information provided to us, it appears there has been a blockage in part of the Saras plants, but we are awaiting official communications."

The complaints multiplied as the hours passed: "I will ask for an intervention from Arpas", assures the mayor.
