The good news came yesterday evening, and was communicated by Mayor Fabio Albieri: "I inform the citizens that the ASL is taking steps to contract two doctors for the activation of the Ascot service, in order to ensure health care for Dr. Loddo's former patients. On Monday morning, the ASL Gallura should communicate to us the schedule with the clinic hours".

Therefore, after the concerns of the last few days, this solution which is a "buffer" seems to have been opened, moreover already adopted in other municipalities which found themselves in the same if not worse situations, due to the now unfortunately chronic phenomenon of the shortage of general practitioners in the ASL Gallura , especially in small towns or in those further away or with difficult connections.

The press release from the mayor of Calangianus follows another, less comforting one by a few days, in which he informed – again in reference to the termination of the role of general practitioner – that up until then no doctor had accepted the role of replacement for the Calangianus-Luras area , leaving, at this point, nothing else but the “Ascot solution”, later confirmed yesterday.

It should be noted, however, that, as Mayor Albieri informed on May 22, after Dr. Loddo, the other general practitioner, Dr. Tusacciu, "will cease to function on June 21" .
