The training course entitled “Press offices in the digital era” will be held on Saturday 16 November from 10 am to 1 pm in the Conference Room of the Sardinian Press Association. After greetings from the President of the Sardinian Press Association Simonetta Selloni and the President of the Order of Journalists Francesco Birocchi , a speech by Andrea Albanese, social media marketing manager and digital communication advisor, is scheduled.

The initiative - organized by the journalists' union and GUS Sardegna, the specialization group of journalists in press offices chaired by Sergio Nuvoli - will address the profound transformations that the journalistic profession and, in particular, the work of press offices, have undergone with the advent of new digital and social tools. These tools, initially perceived as novelties, have consolidated over time, but their constant and rapid development requires press officers to face increasingly complex and articulated challenges, requiring a continuous evolution of skills.

"In a context in which digital technologies are rapidly changing, it is essential for press officers to adapt the message and content to be transmitted - explains the President of GUS, Sergio Nuvoli - ensuring that these reach an increasingly wider and more varied audience in an effective and competitive manner". In fact, social platforms have changed the target audience, which is no longer composed solely of journalists, but increasingly of end users. This change also requires increasing attention to the quality of multimedia materials to be offered to editorial offices, enriching the traditional press release with innovative and valuable content.

"For this reason we asked Andrea Albanese - adds Nuvoli - to hold a course not only to examine the new opportunities offered to press offices, but also to provide practical tools, strategies and useful methods to improve the professional management of social platforms related to one's work, thus ensuring an increasingly effective and integrated approach". Five credits (deontological) that will be assigned to participants.

At the end of the course, the winners of the “Sardinian Journalism Award – Press Officer of the Year” will be awarded.
