Rubble, asbestos, household appliances and waste fires. All not in a landfill but in via Milano , in Cagliari, in the residential neighborhood of Bonaria . A small " land of fires " which - according to the GrIG Legal Intervention Group - is constantly growing, with ever greater risks for the environment and the many residents.

The ecologist association today requested - with a specific request - the " environmental cleanup and the preparation of a minimum level of control , including with video surveillance systems, to avoid further environmental and health damage". The Municipality of Cagliari, the Forestry and Environmental Surveillance Corps, the ASL of Cagliari, the Carabinieri of the Ecological Operational Unit are involved. The Prosecutor's Office was also informed.

Already in recent years the exposed ecologists had led, several times, to the environmental reclamation of the area, chosen by the uncivilized as an " illegal landfill ". According to the investigations of the municipal police - as reported by GrIG in a press release - «in the site in question there is a portion of the area owned by the municipality, a dilapidated fence with inside dilapidated buildings covered with asbestos-cement sheets, in addition to the deterioration present in the surrounding area, full of waste". The ruined structures have been uninhabited for some time while in the area there was a camper "in terrible condition but regularly insured", which was later removed.

The municipality pointed out that it had repeatedly provided the competent municipal structures with timely information on the state of serious environmental and sanitary degradation of the site.
