The fight against illegal camping on the Bosa coast was at the center of the intense preventive and repressive campaign carried out in the summer of 2023 by the staff of the Maritime District Office as part of the Mare Sicuro operation.

In the localities of "Tentizzos", "Torre Argentina" and "S'Abba Drucche", traditionally in the period of August, several bathers used to camp, even for several days, with camping tents and gazebos, in various cases fencing off areas more or less vast areas of state property, thus violating the ordinance of the Region which expressly prohibits behavior such as "leaving, after sunset, on free beaches, umbrellas, deck chairs, tents or other equipment however denominated ..." and "camping with caravans, campers, camping tents or other similar equipment”.

The Maritime District Office of Bosa, under the guidance of the TV (CP) Fabrizio Frascella, has carried out a daily preventive information activity towards the frequenters of those stretches of coast in order to make known the contents of the regional ordinance. Actions that have led to a marked reduction in illegal camping and the umbrella-placeholder phenomenon.

Since August 15th we have also moved on to repressive actions for some isolated cases, present to a lesser extent than in previous years.

In particular, 2 camping tents, two large gazebos were seized under which tables, chairs and camping kitchens equipped with gas cylinders and various beach equipment had been placed on the coast overnight as a "placeholder umbrella". . Four high administrative fines.
