The hot topic these days is the housing emergency in Assemini. There are dozens of social messages with the words "I'm looking for a house to rent" from single people, young couples, the elderly and disabled people. The lack of success in the search, given the scarcity of apartments for rent and the unavailability of municipal housing, has even been followed by some accusations, not too hidden, to the mayor: "Mr. Mario Puddu, I invite you to deliver the municipal houses to those who need them without making distinctions because the law is the same for everyone: otherwise we'll see each other on Le Iene".

The reactions

The post published in the Facebook group “Assemini in comune”, with its evidently desperate tones, received several disapproving comments which were followed by its immediate deletion. But the message remained impressed in the quick eyes of the citizens, stirring the souls and consciences of some: «I don't think it's the mayor who decides who gets the council houses - comments Giampaolo Deidda, 54 - also because he wouldn't have the competence. As a rule, an application with requirements to meet is needed». Others also didn't like the tone of the message: some believe it would be more appropriate to ask for an appointment with the mayor rather than publish via social media and others consider the insinuations rather heavy.

"Let's keep calm"

In the meantime, the administration has received reports and requests from citizens, inviting them to keep a low profile: "We understand the state of mind of those looking for a home or who are on the list to receive one - says Mayor Mario Puddu - and for this reason we are working in this direction". Just a few days ago, there was talk of new solutions to contain the emergency : "We will deploy the economic resources at our disposal - explains Social Services Councilor Antonella Mostallino - to offer new housing solutions. There are 4 projects: the creation of a guarantee fund to support the costs of 20 housing units, "shared housing" with which 3 housing units will be identified for a maximum of 3 guests each, the "solidarity condominium" to promote sharing and cooperation among residents and the provision of accommodation facilities".

The announcements

To take advantage of these opportunities, the Municipality will publish regular notices on its institutional website: "I do not decide who enters the houses - concludes Puddu - but a special commission". For example, a few days ago the provisional lists of those admitted (462), admitted with reservations (20) and excluded (3) to the contribution provided by the national fund for support in access to rental housing were approved by the head of the Socio-cultural Services and Education Area. For any reports, additions or requests for revision, there is time until November 19.
