The driver of the car who ran over and killed Beatrice Ubaldi yesterday in Viale Pirastu in Tortolì , on State Road 198, is under investigation for road homicide .

The 51-year-old was a teacher of Italian at the Tortolì hotel school: originally from Urbino, she had been a resident of the Ogliastra town for some time.

She was hit by a Fiat Panda driven by a 56 year old man from Lanusei , Tonino Orrù, while walking with his dog a few hundred meters from the house in via Flumendosa where she lived with her husband and two children.

A patrol from the Lanusei Road Police Detachment intervened on the spot, as well as the 118 doctors who tried in every way to save the woman's life.

All under the eyes of the relatives who rushed to the scene, who hugged each other, prayed and cried. The dog was killed instantly on impact.
