The operation to rescue a climber, a 37-year-old from Trentino , who was injured after a fall on the cliffs of Capo Pecora , in Arbus, ended shortly after midnight .

The man was in the company of a friend, who alerted the rescue services as soon as the accident occurred. The alarm was raised around 20:50 with the immediate activation of 12 technicians from the Alpine and Speleological Rescue of the stations of Iglesias, Cagliari and Medio Campidano.

Due to the particularly rough terrain that would have made the transport of the injured person by land long and complex, the support of the HH-139A helicopter of the 80th SAR Center - Search and Rescue of the Italian Air Force was requested . The vehicle, taking off from Decimomannu, reached the injured person who, with the support of the men who intervened by land, was stabilized and positioned on the stretcher to then be recovered with the winch and transported to the parking lot where the Areus medicalized ambulance was waiting for him.

Following the assessments carried out by the medical staff, the man was then transported by helicopter from Decimomannu to the Brotzu hospital in Cagliari . The Fire Department personnel were also on site.
