Infected by a transfusion in 1967, due to a difficult birth, she spent her life among pathologies, diagnoses and various reports. In 2013, the discovery: that blood introduced into her body almost half a century earlier had caused her to contract hepatitis. Only today, hopefully definitively, a now over eighty year old from Nuorese was right about the Ministry of Health.

THE FIRST JUDGMENT - The judges of the Cagliari Court of Appeal, in 2020, had already issued a sentence of conviction against the dicastery, which should have paid compensation of almost 90 thousand euros for the damage caused. Despite the final passage of the verdict, however, not a cent has arrived from the Roman government offices : the inertia of an insensitive bureaucracy that tramples on citizens' rights.

THE TAR - The elderly woman, assisted throughout the judicial ordeal by the lawyers Nicoletta Masile and Daniele Albai, had to lodge an appeal with the TAR to get her due and enforce the court's judgment. And she won again against the ministry, as reported in the device deposited this morning: within 60 days she will have to be paid 84,450 euros (plus interest) in compensation for the damage caused by the disease , in addition to the court costs, which are around 30 thousand euros for the various degrees. Not only that: money - 1500 euros - could also come out of the public coffers for the compensation of a possible ad acta commissioner in the event of further ministerial inaction. Which, given the precedents, cannot be excluded: insult that adds to damage.

THE CALVARY - The Sardinian woman is one of the many "victims" of infected blood transfusions that have filled the news over the decades. Perhaps the first to suffer the consequences of plasma mismanagement. From the surgery she underwent after the pregnancy she had to deal with ailments and pathologies of which the cause had never been discovered. The truth only emerged in 2013: it was hepatitis that made her sick for decades. The causal link between transfusion and illness was brought to light by lawyers Masile and Albai , who went to recover - not an easy operation - the files of a few decades earlier. Their thesis was confirmed by an expert. And, two years ago, from the sentence of the Court of Appeal of Cagliari.

“HISTORICAL” VERDICT - Unfortunately, and there are many precedents, the old woman had to deal with ministerial indifference, often accused of infected blood, condemned and bad payer. Today the victory in a new judgment. Fifty-five years after he got hepatitis.
