Agreement between the Region of Sardinia and trade unions to assign financial resources to doctors who agree to take up service in the approximately 140 "disadvantaged" and "very disadvantaged" offices of the island where it is difficult to find coverage.
"In a climate of great sharing and in total harmony - explained the regional health councilor, Carlo Doria - we have reached an agreement for the allocation of economic resources for the disadvantaged and very disadvantaged locations of Sardinia, so that a incentive for doctors to accept assignments in the most peripheral offices, in which a disadvantage is recognized due to the geographical characteristics of their territory, connections, low population density, distance from hospital centers or the persistent shortage of doctors, despite the tenders regional".
On 15 March, councilor Doria will meet the unions again to discuss the proposal of the new regional supplementary agreement (AIR), in line with the provisions for territorial health care by Ministerial Decree 77 and by the latest national collective agreement (ACN) of general medicine .
The agreement comes after the agitation of the island's general practitioners, who had gathered in Tramatza in recent days to take stock of the problems they have to deal with in carrying out their profession, asking the Region for "answers".
