In Sardinia the resources for the services under an agreement are increasing. The Solinas Council, on the proposal of the Regional Health Councilor, Mario Nieddu , has approved in an extraordinary way the variation of the expenditure ceilings for hospital and outpatient services provided by accredited private structures for the years 2022 and 2023, which have increased from about 162 , 6 million euros to just over 167 million euros for each year , with an increase of approximately 4.5 million , as allowed by the national legislation on the subject.

An important step forward , therefore, in a situation that risked coming to a standstill : there are in fact many private structures that have long complained about the impossibility of providing services in agreement with the national health service due to lack of reimbursements.

"We intervened to guarantee the right of citizens to receive visits and examinations in the affiliated structures under the same conditions as the public ",   explains Nieddu. “In recent years, the commitment of our healthcare system on the Covid front has determined an inevitable increase in the demand for services in private facilities . To cope with this situation, also following a comparison with the world of affiliated healthcare in Sardinia, we have taken steps to find a solution that would allow us to increase resources where space for maneuver is in any case limited by national spending constraints " .

"It is necessary to keep in mind - specifies the commissioner - that the expenditure of the Regions for the purchase of services from private healthcare is limited by the constraints imposed at the national level by the spending review . The increase approved with this provision moves within this perimeter. We have already expressed doubts in the past about the spending ceilings imposed by Rome, by virtue of the fact that Sardinia has been providing healthcare spending with its own resources since 2007. In a phase in which public structures are reorganizing themselves following a pandemic which is not yet behind us, the private individual can make an important contribution in recovering the services left behind due to the virus ", the conclusion.
