He stole the cell phone of a North African , with whom he then engaged in a violent fight which resulted in a melee with the police , who intervened to break up the fight and restore order .

This is what happened yesterday in Cagliari in Piazza del Carmine , where the military arrested a 24-year-old Gambian , the perpetrator of the attempted theft, also resorting to the use of a taser .

The soldiers thus managed to stop the man, who was handcuffed and taken to the barracks.

The Gambian was held in the security rooms of the Cagliari company waiting to be taken to the courthouse, to be judged in a very direct procedure today.
