There would be some wiretaps at the basis of the turning point in the investigation into the murder of the pensioner Tonino Pirastru. The investigators of the Sassari Flying Squad, led by the director Davide Melca, would have listened to the alleged murderer, Mario Masala (40 years old, from Sassari) who spoke of the tragic end of his neighbor and rival, Tonino Pirastru.

The 78-year-old pensioner died after being hit by Masala's van on July 3 in Liscia di Vacca. According to rumors, Masala, speaking of Pirastru, did not have the tone and attitude of a person who killed another in a car accident.

The conversations would be among the elements against Masala in the arrest warrant executed today by the Olbia Highway Patrol agents (coordinated by the directors Inti Piras and Andrea Migliore).

The prosecutor Milena Aucona would have requested and obtained the arrest also on the basis of a testimony and a consultancy on the incident of July 3. Tomorrow the suspect, defended by the lawyer Giancarlo Frongia, will appear before the investigating judge for the preliminary hearing.
