What happened this afternoon in a Forestas construction site in the Villacidro countryside is sensational.
The protagonist was a 38-year-old villacidrese followed by mental health services. The caretaker of the yard, worried by the man's behavior, called the men of the weapon.
When the carabinieri arrived on the spot, the man took refuge in the middle and activated the mechanical shovel, hitting the car of the soldiers, who at that point were forced out of the cockpit in a very high risk situation.
Then, during a maneuver, the vehicle stopped in a ditch and could no longer continue its run. Danger escaped for the carabinieri, but two other patrols had to arrive to calm the man - who in the meantime had barricaded himself in the construction site offices - and take him away.
Now the 38-year-old is accused of attempted murder, resistance and violence.
