The trial against Mario Masala, the man accused of running over and killing his neighbor, Tonino Pirastru, opened this morning in Tempio.
The facts occurred on July 3, 2024 in Porto Cervo . Masala, according to the public prosecutor, would have acted after a series of arguments with the victim .
The relatives of Tonino Pirastru, assisted by the lawyers Elias Vacca and Ezia Orecchioni , have constituted themselves as civil parties before the investigating judge Alessandro Cossu . Mario Masala, 40 years old, from Sassari, is defended by the lawyers Giancarlo Frongia and Nicola Satta .
The man was present in the courtroom and asked to be heard by the judge: the defendant's examination will take place on July 1st. The objections of the public prosecutor Milena Aucone are based on the investigations conducted by the Highway Police of the provincial command of Sassari and the Olbia garrison.
