Bad adventure, fortunately without serious consequences, for a 55-year-old butcher from Armungia.
The man was recovered yesterday afternoon at the bottom of an impervious cliff in the locality of "Su Cuccuru", where he had fallen due to an accidental fall.
The alarm was triggered in the morning by his brother, who had gone to the local police station because he had never seen the 55-year-old return from an excursion to a wooded area.
Subsequent investigations, also through an analysis of the video surveillance systems, made it possible to circumscribe the area of the disappearance and then to find, after about three hours of research, the victim on the bottom of the cliff.
The intervention of the 118 volunteers of Ballao and the helicopter rescue was therefore requested on the spot: the 55-year-old, after being harnessed and recovered by winch from the rocky ravine, was transported in red code to the Policlinico di Monserrato.
To land the aircraft, the volunteers also dug out a clearing in the Mediterranean scrub with billhooks and axes, and lit a bonfire to signal the location to the helicopter pilot.
