The autopsy, ordered by the Prosecutor's Office , is scheduled for Thursday to shed full light on the death of Bruno Marongiu , 75 years old who died in the countryside of San Nicolò d'Arcidano while he was burning stubble on his land.

According to an initial reconstruction of the incident, the elderly man was clearing brush from his vineyard, but the stake he set was attacking another property. Marongiu would then have tried to stem the flames , without succeeding.

The body was found by a Forestry patrol, which intervened on the spot after reporting that a fire was in progress.

Then the intervention of the Police , who carried out an inspection together with the magistrate on duty.

The latter ordered the autopsy examination to clarify whether the burns were fatal to the elderly person or whether the man had an illness .
