A 14 year old autistic boy bullied by some peers in the municipal gardens. It happened a few days ago, in Guspini , in Piazza dei Giardinetti where a young boy from Gonna was with his family and some friends.

A normal late summer evening for the group, who organized a picnic. While the adults were busy preparing, however, something went wrong: «My children and their friends were a few meters away from us, my son Daniele was on the swing and alternated moments in which he gave life to his monologues with moments in which he played carefree. We were calm. Suddenly, however , my children's friends ran to us telling us that some boys were spitting on my son ." These are the words of Lorena Pintus, a forty-one year old pastry chef from Gonnosfanadiga, who wrote a long post on Facebook to tell what happened.

«My son was bullied only because for once I decided that I could give him some space and avoid keeping him under a glass bell. He was calm on the swing and suddenly he was surrounded, they started insulting him and spitting on him , just because they realized that there was something wrong with my son." Lorena makes no secret of what her son faces every day and she herself often uses social media to tell the story of the difficulties and daily challenges of an autistic boy. «The parents of the children, who were also present and not far away, immediately intervened and scolded their children . I don't feel like blaming the parents because they intervened and because I know how difficult it is to be a parent and try to teach respect and values to your children. However, this must not be a mitigating factor, we must continue to work on young people and children, just as parents teach their children to tie their shoes, they must teach them love and that the rule of the strongest does not exist. What makes me sad is knowing that my son will never be able to go to school by bus or become more independent until things like this happen ." Lorena Pintus also launches an appeal to the institutions: «I hope that schools, associations and administrations work together to raise awareness and educate children about love and respect».

In Guspini, from the majority councilor Filippo Usai, president of the youth policies commission, the intervention was immediate: «As soon as I read what happened it seemed right to me to show solidarity towards the mother of the boy who suffered the sad episode of bullying. These incidents, especially when they happen in our communities, affect us personally. I will commit myself and talk about it during the next majority meeting so that the many "Daniele" can live in a better country and the bullies can understand that the herd is an act of weakness."
