Guspini, a large marijuana plantation on the farm
The checks revealed a percentage of THC of 3.75%, those responsible reported for cultivation and production of narcotic substances in competitionAfter the operations of Arborea and Pimentel, the search for illegal hemp plantations undertaken by the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Cagliari continues with the coordination of the local Public Prosecutor's Office.
During the inspection of a sheepfold on a farm of over 100 hectares, in the municipality of Guspini, owned by a 33-year-old who manages an agricultural company, the carabinieri of the Villacidro Company, with the use of 15 soldiers from the various stations as well as of NORM, together with a team from the "Hunters of Sardinia" Heliborne Squadron, identified a marijuana plantation, declared legal by the 33-year-old.
The plants, arranged in 92 rows for a total of 6,429, showed abundant inflorescences and a height varying from 60 to 90 centimetres. The police first checked the regularity of the seed purchase documentation, realizing that the contract between the growers of the plantation and the final third party to whom the hemp was delivered was missing.
Therefore, following the sampling of 5 plants carried out in the Chemical Section of the RIS Carabinieri of the capital, it emerged that it was drug-induced hemp with a percentage of the active ingredient THC (delta 9 - tetrahydrocannabinol) of 3.75% (compared to 0 .6% allowed by law to be considered legal in cultivation).
Also found were fertilizer tanks, a drip irrigation system that drew water from a 5000 liter tank connected to an electric pump, a generator and an artesian well.
The affected area, plants and equipment were seized. Those responsible were reported for cultivation and production of narcotic substances in competition.
