New hearing of the Grillo jr. trial on Monday 2 December: in the closed-door courtroom of the Tempio Pausania Court, one of the key witnesses of the defense of Ciro Grillo, Edoardo Capitta, Vittorio Lauria and Francesco Corsiglia , the four Genoese friends accused of gang rape against an Italian-Norwegian student, should appear. The contested facts date back to the night between 16 and 17 July 2019, in the villa in Porto Cervo owned by the Grillo family.

This is Enrique Bye Obando, the ex-boyfriend of the main accuser of the four. The young Norwegian of Nicaraguan origin was accused by the same student of having raped her in a campsite in Norway, a year before the alleged rape in Costa Smeralda. Interviewed, Obando denied everything, denying any violence and claiming that the girl had also apologized for lying.

However, it is not certain that Obando will be there: the Court offices have forwarded the summons to Norway several times, but it seems that there has been no confirmation of the notification. The young man should have already testified at the hearing on September 23, but he did not show up.

Monday will also see the swearing-in of the translator who transposed the chats and conversations into English taken from the student's cell phone.

Another hearing is also scheduled for December: it will be held on Monday 16, the last of 2024, with which the preliminary hearing will close. The panel presided over by Judge Marco Contu will continue to hear Mattia Epifani, the party's IT technical consultant, already heard in court on November 8, when he illustrated the methods with which he recovered and extracted from the memory of the girl's and the four defendants' cell phones over 40 terabytes of material including messages, chats and information acquired from social profiles, which then flowed into the trial documents.
