Double appointment with the great international jazz for the closing of the 2021 edition of "culturefestival", an event organized by the Sardinia Pro Arte association founded and directed by Simone Pittau.

The appointment is for Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 November, starting at 20:30, in Mogoro.

On the stage of the Municipal Theater will be some of the most important protagonists of the American scene such as Dave Weckl and Tom Kennedy (13) and the Kenny Garrett quintet (14).

THE PROTAGONISTS - Weckl, from the US, is considered one of the most influential and technically gifted jazz / fusion drummers of all time. For him collaborations with numerous artists, including George Benson, Chick Corea, Paul Simon, Madonna, Mike Stern, John Patitucci, Diana Ross, Robert Plant and many others.

Kennedy is one of the best acoustic and electric bass players on the international scene. He has performed alongside true jazz icons such as Freddie Hubbard, James Moody, Nat Adderly, Sonny Stitt, George Russell, Barney Kessel and Herb Ellis. He participated in the recording of over 200 records.

Weckl and Kennedy have shared the stage for decades, but this is their first joint tour project born from the collaboration for Kennedy's latest record, "Stories." On stage with them two other world-class jazz stars: Stu Mindeman on the piano and Bob Francheschini on sax.

Among the most influential saxophonists of the 90s, Kenny Garrett has 19 works as a soloist and several others alongside the likes of Miles Davis, Marcus Miller, Chick Corea, John McLaughlin and John Scofield. At the helm of his tried and tested stable quintet, the great Detroit musician will stage “Seeds From The Underground”, yet another masterpiece of his acclaimed creativity and overflowing energy. On stage he will be accompanied by Corcoran Holt on bass, Ronald Bruner on drums, Rudy Bird on percussion and Vernell Brown Jr. on piano.
