Grazia Marine, Silvia Melis' jailer, has died . The woman from Orgosolo was 86 years old and hospitalized in the San Francesco hospital in Nuoro. She was definitively sentenced to 25 and a half years for the kidnapping of the girl from Tortolì who was kidnapped in February 1997 and freed after 265 days of imprisonment.

The old woman had been ill for some time. In 2013, after seven years of detention in the maximum security prison of Badu 'e Carros, due to her health problems she was released from prison and subjected to house arrest in her home in Orgosolo.

She was known as Zia Grà , because Silvia Melis reported during the trial that during her imprisonment in the apartment on Viale Trento in Nuoro, when someone entered the house, she called her that.

The victim's testimony was one of the elements that led to her conviction and that of her eldest son Antonio Maria Marine, sentenced to 30 years. Mother of 10 children, Grazia Marine was widowed three times. Her last husband, Ziu Tuseddu, died in his home in Nuoro, the same one where Silvia Melis was held prisoner .
