Controls by the Carabinieri of the Cagliari Cultural Heritage Protection Unit were carried out throughout the Nuoro area in relation to the assets belonging to the archaeological heritage that have been illegally stolen.

In one of these checks - carried out with the support of the local station and Barisardo's colleagues -, in Tortolì four amphorae and two anchor stocks were noticed on display in a shop , artifacts dating back to between the fifth century BC and the seventh century BC. , believed to be of Etruscan and Roman ambit (Imperial and Late Antiquity).

Once the investigations were triggered, the local ABAP superintendency was consulted, which considered the assets of considerable historical and scientific interest ( the Etruscan amphora is a unique example in the Sardinian archaeological panorama ), and the estimated economic value is around 25,000 euros.

After the recovery, three people were reported, who are under investigation for " receiving stolen goods " and " illegal possession ".
