An old scam now known to most people, but every now and then someone tries it. And some still fall for it.

Yesterday , a 64-year-old from Gonnosfanadiga did not fall for the classic "mirror scam" carried out by a 19-year-old homeless Sicilian , a young man belonging to the Sicilian nomadic community of the "Walkers".

The boy let the 64-year-old's car overtake him in Gonnosfanadiga and from his vehicle threw a small stone at the car , causing the victim to stop on the side of the road. He then approached him telling the Sardinian that he had chipped his mirror. Then, as expected, he asked for 200 euros in cash to close it there and avoid opening procedures with the insurance which would have led to an increase in the costs of the RCA.

The 64-year-old, however, did not fall for it, on the contrary, he gathered useful elements to identify the young man and turned to the police at the local station, who tracked down the 19-year-old and reported him for attempted aggravated fraud .
