18 years after the construction of the municipal purification plant which, over time, has highlighted evident criticalities , Golfo Aranci will be able to count on a renewed structure .

Egas, government body of the Sardinian area, with executive determination n. 370 of 24 October last approved the final-executive project which, in fact, will help to overcome this condition of crisis, giving way to an important intervention to adapt and upgrade the plant .

The work will be carried out by the service manager, Abbanoa , who drew up the design.

The works are financed by the Sardinia Region , for an amount of 470 thousand euros , as part of a broader plan that includes the programming of 35 interventions for the integrated water service infrastructures on the island.

The intervention will allow the area to be able to count on a truly calibrated plant , in the management, on the peaks of attendance in the summer period , and to cope with calamitous events .

THE INTERVENTIONS - In summary, the works envisage the construction of two new interception wells that allow the regulation of the flow rate to be sent to the final discharge; the adaptation of the current sludge treatment section; adaptation of the outgoing conveyor manifold ; the installation of a compact plant for the pre-treatment of waste (bottini); the adaptation and replacement of electrical panels and the construction of new power lines; the replacement of a purified water booster pump with a new unit with a higher flow rate, equipped with an inverter panel and an intelligent pressure management system to maximize hydraulic efficiency; the implementation of a new remote control system for monitoring, parameterization and process control functions.

With the approval of the project by the EGAS, the manager will be able to proceed immediately with the assignment of the works .

"With this intervention - specifies the president of EGAS, Fabio Albieri - the Municipality of Golfo Aranci will finally be able to benefit from a more efficient and functional sewage-purification system for the real needs of an entire territory on which seasonal tourist flows strongly impact".
