An investigation that began as a routine patrol turned into a drug bust, resulting in an arrest and a referral.
In Golfo Aranci, the Guardia di Finanza of Olbia arrested a thirty-year-old local man found in possession of approximately 65 grams of cocaine, some of which had already been divided into doses ready for sale.
The operation was triggered during a check in the municipal area, when an Italian man in his eighties was caught with a small amount of cocaine. Subsequent investigations, carried out with the assistance of canine units, led the financial police to the thirty-year-old, who was found to be using one of the cars registered to the pensioner.
The drug-sniffing dog's nose helped locate the young man's home, located in the city center. A search of the apartment yielded 65 grams of cocaine, some of it already packaged in doses, as well as cash, a precision scale, and drug packaging materials.
The material was seized, and the thirty-year-old was arrested on charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. By order of the Tempio Pausania judicial authorities, the man was placed under house arrest. The elderly man found in possession of the drugs was reported at large.
