Nearly six hours of prosecution to chip away at the wall of silence that for months surrounded the murder of Luca Goddi, killed on August 4, 2023 in the center of Orune . Today, before the Court of Nuoro , the public prosecutor Ireno Satta reconstructed the investigation point by point , which began on an uphill slope amid fear, silence, and reticence, but took off thanks to wiretaps and an element considered crucial by investigators: a notebook found in a bar opposite the crime scene, with the names and surnames of the people present that evening .
Before preliminary hearing judge Alessandra Ponti, the trial was held using a summary procedure , given the absence of any alleged aggravating circumstances. The defendant, Pietro Contena, 55, was represented in court by lawyers Basilio Brodu and Martino Salis. The civil parties were represented by lawyers Lorenzo Soro, Pasquale Ramazzotti, and Nicoletta Mani.
According to the reconstruction by the Carabinieri of the Bitti Company and the Nuoro Investigative Unit, Contena fired four shots from a 9x19 caliber pistol at Goddi , hitting him in the head and shoulder while he was inside his Volkswagen Golf, parked on Corso Repubblica. The attack occurred in front of numerous witnesses, who, however, did not cooperate.
At the end of the discussion, the prosecutor requested, with the increases for carrying a weapon and the reiterated specification, a final sentence of 35 years, lowered to 30 by applying article 78 of the penal code on the maximum limits of increases in principal sentences in the case of concurrence of crimes (material accumulation), further reduced to 20 years as a result of the one-third reduction provided for by the choice of the abbreviated procedure .
In February the word will pass to the civil parties and then to the defense .
