Giorgio Mara, the 41-year-old missing from Ploaghe since September 19, was found last night in Porto Torres. The news of the discovery was given by his sister, Luisa Mara, who first raised the alarm on social media. Together with him was also his father who had left a facility in Laerru that same day .
"You have been truly a great help, thank you all for the solidarity, from me and my family," Luisa Mara said in a video in which she did not hide her emotion. "Social media is a powerful tool," she continued. " We hope that he can get his life and health back on track . I have been able to see how much humanity there is in the people and in the messages received."
The searches had concentrated on Porto Torres , a city that Giorgio Mara had lived in and knew well, and it was there that he had been spotted by some people who had not hesitated to report his presence.
