Giave loses another of his historical memories : this morning, at the ripe old age of 104, Aunt Maria Cosima Spissu died .

The grandmother, a relative of the late Professor Marco Spissu, was a guest at the San Michele retirement home and had celebrated the prestigious milestone on December 17 last year .

The memory of the mayor of the small town of Meilogu, Gian Mario Chessa, is moved: «The most emotional moment was when I sat in front of her and shook her hand, reciprocated with so much affection and tenderness she reminded me, with lucid memory, anecdotes of my parents and Giavesu relatives who unfortunately are no longer here».

«A woman from other times – added the mayor –, very human, with a big heart and generous, as well as very religious. He had a good word with everyone, he was always available, he didn't envy anyone. She was just an exceptional woman, she moved me as much as I went to see her. She was very affectionate, of great depth, and then she had a great will to live. She wanted to feel useful to others."

Giave, in recent months, had also lost his other grandmother, Aunt Antonietta Ruggiu, also over one hundred years old .
