The game to transfer the Istrumpadoglios gas depot to Torpè has almost reached its conclusion . Yesterday evening during the last session of the town's municipal council, the mayor Martino Sanna , pressured by the minority, admitted that Medea-Italgas does not intend to review the project . A statement that exposed the mayor to a harsh dispute by the members of the residents' committee , who for months have been carrying on a battle against the plant, felt like smoke and mirrors, because it is too close to their homes.
Sanna , who until a few days ago had said he was convinced of possible mediation with the energy company, finally gave in to the evidence . The only path still in place, which could reverse the situation, is linked to a complaint that the municipality presented to the Nuoro court , which requests verification of the regularity of the work that is being carried out in Istrumpadoglios. Plant that has already obtained all the necessary authorisations, whose work continues without interruption.
