Tamed, thanks to the intervention of air vehicles, the vast fire broke out on the slopes of Mount Limbara , in Gallura , devouring hectares of wood and threatening the houses of the hamlet of San Leonardo a Oschiri .

In action two Canadair arrived from Olbia and two helicopters of the Forestry Corps , one took off from the operational base of Tempio Pausania and one, the SuperPuma, coming from Fenosu.

The prompt intervention of the Forestry and Civil Protection prevented the flames from spreading over the entire southern slope of the Limbara and from reaching the houses.

It was not necessary to evacuate the houses but among the residents of the area there was a lot of concern also due to the impracticability of the Diana bridge over the Coghinas, closed a couple of months ago by the Anas because it was considered unsafe, the only escape route towards the village of Oschiri.

Another fire in the Vilasor countryside , in southern Sardinia. A helicopter from the Marganai base and the HH 139 twin engine of the Italian Air Force are intervening at the stake in Pranu Luxeria.
