A day in the crystal clear waters of the La Maddalena Archipelago for eleven very young hospital patients being treated in the Pediatric Oncology and Hematology Department of the Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza hospital in San Giovanni Rotondo.

The initiative, promoted by the local Padre Pio Prayer Group and now in its fourth year of development, has given boys and girls the opportunity to live an exciting experience alongside the Sailors of the Coast Guard.

The group, after being welcomed by the Commander of the Harbor Master's Office at the Punta Chiara quay, embarked on three patrol boats where the young patients were able to dress up as "Youth of the Coast Guard" for a day, trying their hand at prevention activities and control to protect bathing, thus understanding the importance of the activities that the Harbor Master's Office carries out every day at the service of the community and in safeguarding life at sea and the environment.
