Operations aimed at disembarking the super yacht Atina, the 47-metre vessel that sank in the waters off the Saline beach in Olbia following a fire that broke out at the stern on 10 August, began this morning at the Asi dock in the Porto Torres industrial port .

The motor yacht, flying the Cook Islands flag, was recovered from a seabed of approximately 8 metres and brought to the surface using the Conquest MB1 pontoon, a floating structure used to recover the cruise ship Concordia.

On Sunday, November 17, the wreck was transferred from Olbia to the port of Porto Torres and moored at the Asi Riva dock, where the grounding operations are underway, coordinated by the Port Authority of Porto Torres. After the maxi yacht has been unloaded, using the newly employed travel lift, it will be transferred to an adjacent shipyard area, at Sardinia Nautic Assistance, the company that takes care of the subsequent refitting or eventual demolition activities.

The vessel recovery operation was carried out on November 3 by Resolve Marine, a specialized company and world leader in this type of operation. On Saturday, November 16, the Atina wreck on the maxi pontoon Conquest MB1 accompanied by the tugboat Cala Azzurra, left the Cocciani industrial dock to reach the port of Porto Torres. In the meantime, the seabed reclamation activities continue, at the site of the sinking, by the divers of the Olbia Coast Guard.
