"I heard a loud bang around 12:30 a.m. A neighbor alerted me because he saw flames coming from the G. Devilla sports facility, and we rushed to the scene."

Codrongianos Mayor Cristian Budroni recounts what happened overnight on Via Velio Spano , where an explosive device, between Monday and Tuesday, damaged a door and destroyed a bathroom in the locker room, beneath the stands of the multipurpose sports facility, shattering two windows. "We rushed to the scene immediately and extinguished the initial fire on the soccer field, but as soon as we turned on the lights inside the facility, we realized that the noise was due to an explosive device that had ripped off a door and destroyed the restrooms."

Firefighters have secured the area. Carabinieri officers from the Codrongianos station have launched an investigation, coordinated by the Sassari command, to identify those responsible and determine the motive for the attack on the G. Devilla sports field, which has been entrusted to Sporting Sassari for another year. "We don't know how to explain it," added the mayor. "We haven't received any threats, and we certainly can't call it a prank." Messages of solidarity for the mayor and the community have poured in from nearby towns.
