They searched for each other for years and eventually the meeting came. Robert McKinnon, 72-year-old American citizen, in his previous life was Luciano Calabró, born in 1949 in Giba.

On the death of his mother, when he was still a few months old, his father took him to the orphanage in Cagliari hoping to go and pick him up quickly. This was not the case and Luciano a few years later left for the United States, the son of a couple who gave him the name of Robert.

The sisters (on their mother's side) who remained on the island, however, have never forgotten him. The searches were in vain until his niece, Veronica Campus di Sant'Antioco, took care of the matter and managed to find him.

Hence the meeting in Sardinia, between hugs and tears, the visit to the building that housed the orphanage (now the seat of the Metropolitan City) and the promise to return soon.
