Sardinian politics in mourning: Franco Sergio Pisano has died. He was 72 years old. A sudden illness hit him last Saturday and today his heart stopped beating.

Originally from Selegas, he led his community for 33 years: he was mayor from 1975 to 1997 and from 2001 to 2011.

Graduated in Physics in the same year in which he wore the tricolor sash for the first time , he was also a regional councilor, elected with the Reform party, from 2001 to 2009, before returning to the building in via Roma in 2013. He subsequently held other political posts, but not on the front lines.

"My friend, don't forget about me, because I won't forget about you," writes former parliamentarian Pierpaolo Vargiu, posting a photo with Pisano.

A memory also comes from the mayor of Mandas, Umberto Oppus: «A great son of Trexenta», he says, «I hope that history will bring back and remember the many things done both from a political and professional point of view. Above all, the story of a model and prepared student who became one of the DC leaders of the territory. Selegas, Trexenta and Sardinia lose a beautiful person ».
