The Forestry Corps carried out a raid on the illegal campsites of Porto Botte, where in the last few days anti-camper graffiti had appeared, and Punta Trettu, near Giba and San Giovanni Suergiu.
The Inspectorate Service of Iglesias, the Carabinieri of the Carbonia Company and a contingent of the State Police of the Carbonia Police Station participated in this morning's operation.
Checks were carried out on numerous campers positioned in the pine forests, on the beach and in state-owned areas, "in clear camping activity".
Thirteen fines were issued for illegal camping.
The Forestry Corps reminds that the passage and parking of campers cause damage to the forest, the soil and the fragile dune system of the coast, because the passage and maneuvers of the vehicles alter the sandy surface. Causing potentially irreversible damage to the pine forests, already tested by the scarce rainfall.
Similar checks will be carried out in the next few days.
