Tragedy touched this afternoon on the provincial road 17, the coast road that connects Cagliari with Villasimius. A Smart that was facing the hairpin bends at Torre delle Stelle flew down the escarpment and ended up in the sea.

The man driving, a forty-six year old, suffered injuries: he was recovered thanks to the intervention of the Drago 144 helicopter of the fire brigade, which transported him to Brotzu.

The men of the Coast Guard and divers from the fire brigade were also at the scene of the accident.

According to an initial reconstruction, the motorist would have lost control of the vehicle without the involvement of other vehicles.
