Out of a total of six fires that took place today in Sardinia, two were those for which the Forestry Corps had to resort to airplanes .

One in Sindia , in the “P.te Ziera” area. Yesterday the teams from the Macomer Forestry Station and the Forestas Agency worked for hours to shut it down. Today the operations were coordinated by the staff of the Macomer Forestry Corps Station, assisted by the staff on board the helicopter coming from the Cfva base in Bosa. In addition to the teams from the Macomer Forestry Corps Station, 2 teams from the Forestas Agency and a team from the Fire Brigade intervened. The fire covered an area of about one hectare of wooded pasture and also affected an agritourism in which, however, there was no one. The extinguishing operations were completed in the morning.

The second fire occurred in Burgos , in the “Truveinerva” area: the extinguishing was coordinated by the staff of the Bono Forestry Corps Station, assisted by the personnel on board the helicopter coming from the Cfva base in Anela. The teams of the Forestas Agency, the team of the Bottidda barracellar Company and the volunteers of Benetutti intervened. The fire covered an area of about one hectare of wood. The extinguishing operations ended around 11.
