Fires: in Sardinia 7 emergencies with the intervention of air vehicles

22 fires that occurred in Sardinia today alone and for 7 fires the Forestry Corps used ground crews and also air vehicles.

In Sorso the flames have covered about 6 hectares of high and uncultivated scrub. On site the intervention was coordinated by the men of the Sassari Forestry Corps Station, assisted by the staff on board the helicopters coming from the CFVA bases of Limbara, Bosa and Fenosu (SuperPuma heavy helicopter). Two teams from the Forestas Agency of the Castelsardo and Sorso construction sites, two from the Barracellar Company of Sorso and Sennori, one from the Sassari Fire Brigade and 3 teams of volunteers from the Sassari Misericordia and Tergu Jerico associations are in operation.

In Lula , in the “Piano San Giuseppe” area, the operations were coordinated by the staff of the Lula Forestry Corps Station, assisted by the staff on board the helicopters coming from the Farcana and Alà dei Sardi bases. The fire covered an area of about 3 hectares of riparian vegetation.

In Macchiareddu-Tanca Mossa, Assemini , the shutdown was coordinated by the staff of the Forestry Corps Station of Uta and of the GAUF Nucleus of Cagliari, with the staff on board the helicopters coming from the CFVA bases of Pula, Villasalto and Fenosu (heavy helicopter SuperPuma). A team from the Forestas Agency of the Sarroch construction sites, one of the Cagliari Fire Brigade and a team of volunteers from the Capoterra Santa Barbara associations took part. The fire covered an area of about 30 hectares of uncultivated and windbreak rows of Eucalyptus sp.

In Villanovafranca , in the locality of “Sa Turriga”, the extinguishing of the flames was coordinated by the staff of the Forestry Corps of Barumini, with the staff on board the helicopters coming from the CFVA bases of Fenosu, Sorgono and Marganai. 1 team from the Forestas Agency of the Barumini construction sites, 1 team from the Tuili barracellar Company, 1 team from the Mandas Fire Brigade took part. The fire covered an area of about 25 hectares of arable land and olive groves.

Fire also in Buddusò in the “Pedru Ischintu” area, where coordination was handled by the staff of the Forestry Corps Station of Buddusò, assisted by the staff on board the helicopters coming from the CFVA bases of Alà dei Sardi and Anela. Two teams from the Forestas Agency of the Buddusò construction sites and a team of volunteers from the Buddusò PROCIV Virginia associations took part. The stake covered an area of about 1 hectare of wood.

In Arzana , locality "Coa 'e monte", the shutdown was coordinated by the staff of the Lanusei and Villagrande Forestry Corps Station, with the CFVA staff stationed at the San Cosimo operational base, and with the helicopter coming from the base of the CFVA of San Cosimo. 4 teams from the Forestas Agency took part in the Villagrande Arcu and Serra, Gairo and Cardedu shipyards. The fire covered an area of about 4000 square meters of Mediterranean scrub and agricultural areas.

Finally in Barumini , in “Perda fitta”, the shutdown was coordinated by the staff of the Barumini Forestry Corps Station, with the personnel on board the helicopter coming from the CFVA base in Fenosu. On site a team of the fire brigade of Cagliari. The fire covered an area of about 2 hectares of stubble.
