Fire in the Quartu countryside, three hectares of Mediterranean scrub burned to ashes

The season of fires has begun, the heavy one recorded today in the Quartu Sant'Elena countryside .

It is the only fire, two or two tamed today by the Forest Service, which required the intervention of air vehicles.

It occurred in the "Corti De Stadi" area and incinerated three hectares of Mediterranean scrub and bushy pasture .

The extinguishing operations were coordinated by the Sinnai Forestry Corps Station: a helicopter from the Villasalto base , staff from the Gauf and the Territorial Service of the Cagliari Forestry Corps and two teams of volunteers from the Quartu associations were on site. The flames were finally doused around 6pm.
