Fire in the mountains of Capoterra, helicopter in action

A big fire broke out in the afternoon on the Capoterra mountains. The flames started at the foot of Monte Arrubiu, in the locality of Perda Su Gattu, along the road that connects Poggio dei Pini with the town.

The Grusap ground teams intervened on the front , but the fire attacked the crowns of the trees, in a densely wooded area, and the intervention of a Forestry helicopter, which departed from the Pula base, was necessary .

The volunteers of Poggio dei Pini also had to work yesterday in Fra Giuanni: the fire, as it expanded, had also involved some buildings.
