Moments of fear erupted in Villacidro, where Carabinieri officers from the local unit arrested a 56-year-old man for mistreatment of family members and personal injury.
The intervention of the military personnel was triggered by a request for help received by 112 from the man's sister.

According to the reconstruction, at the height of a heated argument that broke out over trivial matters inside the family home, the man lashed out at the woman, first hurling insults and death threats, and then escalating into violent acts.
Despite the attack, the woman managed to free herself, get to safety, and promptly alert the emergency services.
The Carabinieri then arrived on the scene, tracked down the man and stopped him near his home.
