Anna Madeddu, the 77-year-old from Macomer who was seriously burned in the night between Sunday and Monday after a fire broke out in her home at number 5 in via Raffaello, was unable to survive the night.

The woman was initially saved by the Macomer firefighters, who found her unconscious near her bed, taken outside and immediately transported by a 118 medical ambulance to the burns center of the Sassari hospital . He had serious burns across a large part of his body and for a few hours he breathed the thick smoke that had created inside his home.

The 77-year-old died in Sassari hospital where she had been hospitalized.

The Macomer firefighters and police are still investigating to discover the causes that generated the fire. According to rumors, the woman left a candle lit because the power was out. But these are only suppositions.
