Fire alert in the Cagliari area: Agrario in Elmas evacuated, woman rescued in Capitana

State Road 130 was closed for almost an hour between 3 and 4 PM in the direction of Iglesias, causing traffic disruption on State Road 554. Several fires that broke out this afternoon along important roads in the Cagliari area are having serious consequences, with significant repercussions on traffic throughout the region.

Since early afternoon, firefighters have been busy with numerous fires. Specifically, teams have intervened in the areas of Narcao , Villasimius , Quartu Sant'Elena (with four separate interventions), Assemini , Torre degli Ulivi , Carbonia , Barumini , Uta , Elmas , Monserrato , Sestu , and in two different areas of the city of Cagliari .

A fire started a short distance from the Agricultural Institute near State Road 130, and the Elmas local police were called to close off access to the road , while firefighters worked to put out the flames and evacuated the institute, where several people were present, as a precaution . State Road 130 was reopened shortly before 4 p.m.

No sooner had the fire hoses been deployed than another emergency broke out: the fire, fueled by the mistral wind, broke out a short distance from State Road 554, in the Selargius area.

A fire that started in the Sestu area, a short distance from the Picciau company, has been put out.

In Capitana, firefighters also prevented several private homes from being affected . During the intervention, a woman was rescued after she inhaled smoke while trying to protect her property. She was entrusted to the care of medical personnel.
