Six classes (3rd A, 1st D, 2nd F, 2nd A, 2nd B and 1st A) belonging to the lower secondary school of the Comprehensive Institute of Sorso, protagonists of " Let's trigger change ", an initiative promoted by Legambiente and aimed at creating a slogan for the 2024 fire prevention campaign.
Four actions were carried out, with the activity falling within the framework of Action B4 aimed at children and young people of school age through the creation of themed works.
An innovative, shared and far-sighted project proposed by Ceas Stagno e Ginepreto di Platamona, an initiative that is part of the "Fires and Climate Change" network projects created within the Infeas network and financed by the Sardinia Region and the Forestas Agency.
The Sorso students joined the project with great enthusiasm and maximum availability, and in November they participated in the activities proposed in class and in the contest for the "Creation of your slogan for the next fire prevention action campaign for the season 2024”.
The entries were evaluated by a commission made up of representatives of Legambiente, Forestas, the Italian Botanical Society, Sardinian section and the Municipality of Sorso, according to criteria designed to evaluate the creativity, originality and effectiveness of the message. The results? Extraordinary.
Thus, during a specially organized presentation at the CEAS headquarters, students presented their works to those present, who were then awarded prizes by the members of the evaluating commission.
"Brucio d'Amore per la Natura" of the 2nd F is the work that won the first prize. For Michele Meloni, president of the Legambiente Sassari club: «These are opportunities for reflection offered to those who represent our future . Let's give our young people the tools to understand and resolve, hoping that as they grow and mature, awareness linked to respect for the environment will also mature. Given the results, we can certainly be confident."
